Welcome to
“Fun with Art”
Hosted by designer & artist Bridget Isbey (Bahlmann), Fun With Art offers children a joyful, screen-free space to explore creativity, build confidence, and discover their own artistic voice. Each session introduces a new artist, guiding kids through hands-on drawing and painting techniques while encouraging self-expression, curiosity, and playful experimentation.
With Bridget’s experience as an abstract and semi-abstract painter and her background in design, every class is crafted to inspire imagination, nurture creative growth, and leave young artists proud of their work..
What to expect
You can expect a thoughtful, engaging, and encouraging studio environment where children are guided step-by-step through creative projects inspired by world-renowned artists. Each session begins with a short, age-appropriate introduction to the artist of the day—who they were, what they created, and what makes their style special. Kids then explore these ideas through their own artwork with plenty of freedom to experiment and warm support from Bridget. By the end of each class, students leave with a finished piece of art and a big boost in confidence.

Lesson 2.1: Building Confidence Through Action
Learning Objectives:
In this session, you’ll shift your mindset from focusing on performance to embracing exploration. You’ll learn to welcome playfulness and imperfection as vital parts of the creative process, freeing yourself from self-judgment.
Activities include 20-minute timed art prompts, blind contour drawing, and improv-style writing or drawing to spark spontaneous creativity and joy.
-
Lesson 2.2: The Power of Daily Practice
This lesson focuses on the power of consistency over intensity in creative work. You'll explore how small, steady efforts can lead to meaningful progress—without burnout or overwhelm. The goal is to design a mini creative practice that fits your real life and supports long-term growth.
Through activities like creating your own 7-day creativity plan and sharing your progress in the discussion forum, you’ll start building habits that keep your creativity flowing—even on busy days.

Chapter 3: Expanding Creative Expression
-
Lesson 3.1: Experimentation Without Expectation
In this lesson, you’ll learn to approach new creative mediums with openness and without judgment, allowing yourself to experiment freely. The focus is on building comfort with creative risk-taking, understanding that growth often comes from stepping outside your usual boundaries.
You’ll engage in activities like trying a medium outside your comfort zone—whether that’s collage, poetry, clay, or another form—and then sharing your reflections to deepen your learning and connect with others.
-
Lesson 3.2: Inspiration and Influence
In this lesson, you’ll learn to identify your sources of inspiration and harness them to fuel your own creative work. We’ll explore the important difference between being influenced by others and simply imitating them, helping you cultivate an authentic creative voice.
Activities include creating a creative response to a favorite artist or work and assembling a mood board to visually map your inspirations.
-
-
Chapter 4: Owning Your Creative Identity
-
Lesson 4.1: Sharing Your Work with Courage

Activities include sharing one creative piece with the group, with optional feedback to foster encouragement and growth.
-
Lesson 4.2: Living a Creatively Courageous Life
In this closing lesson, you’ll develop a personal creative manifesto or statement that captures your values, goals, and creative identity. You’ll also plan thoughtful, long-term steps to keep nurturing your creativity beyond the course.
